| Moncton football players take on USA today One-game showdown features many of the globe's top football players Published in the Times-Transcript on Saturday January 30, 2010 Appeared on Page C3 Moncton football players Dylan Hollohan and Cameron Wade take the world stage today. Hollohan and Wade play for the World team against Team USA at 1 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in a one-game showdown featuring many of the globe's top football players 19-years-old and under. The game has been designated an official Pro Bowl Week event by the National Football League and the NFL Network will provide live coverage of Team USA vs. The World today from Lockhart Stadium. The World team is made up of 45 players from eight countries, including 32 from Canada. Hollohan is a cornerback with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men and Wade is a safety with the Acadia Axemen. Both are products of the Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders high school team. Team USA is made up of the top high school seniors from across American. Hollohan and Wade each produced interceptions on two consecutive days of practice this week when the World team scrimmaged. "We have very different set-ups to our practices here," said Hollohan of the relatively short World team practices that do not run more than 90 minutes following an unorthodox warm up session. "I really like it though. I am being open-minded about it. I think the coaches are doing a great job. I am confident in them and I feel they are confident in us. I think it going to be good. "With our team, there is definitely a language barrier. There are some players that do not speak English that well, but overall we are able to overcome it and it has been going pretty well so far. All of my teammates seem like they want to be became a family over this week. Everyone is cooperating, so it is good." Today's game will follow AFC and NFC Pro Bowl practices. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will perform the ceremonial coin toss. |
