Ed Edmonds, a native of England and a former British figure skating champion, began officiating football in 1964. He would continue to do minor, high school and university games until 1997 when he retired from "on field" duties at the age of  77. Since that date Ed has volunteered regularly as a timer at all levels of football. During 2005 he timed 140 football games! In 2005 the Maritime Football Union Bantam Championship Trophy was named the Ed Edmonds Cup in his honour. Ed resides in Moncton, New Brunswick.
